Adams' Complete Game Leads Series-Clinching 3-1 Win

ATLANTA – Hallie Adams pitched a complete game to lead Georgia State (14-25, 4-8 Sun Belt) to a 3-1, series-clinching win over James Madison (21-12, 6-6) Friday at the Bob Heck Softball Complex.

Adams (4-8), the sophomore from Marietta, Ga., (Pope High School) allowed just one run on seven hits with five strikeouts and no walks to earn her fourth win of the season.

The Panthers were aggressive on the base paths. Emily Brown started off with a base hit and then stole second. Chloe Nadler came to the plate, popped the ball in between short and left field for a base hit as Emily Brown advanced to third. Nadler went to second on the throw, with the Dukes throwing to second base Brown had the chance to take home giving Nadler the opportunity to take third. Nadler made it home on an RBI-single by Bailee Richardson

With Georgia State leading 2-0 in the fourth, Bailee Richardson smacked a double, then advanced to third on a ground out by Ashton Schroyer, extending the lead to three. That is the senior third baseman's eighth double of the season.

Richardson went 2-3 at the plate and with one RBI and one run.

The Dukes got one back after hitting a home run over left field. That was all they could manage as the Panthers clinched the series.

The Panthers will be back in action on Friday, April 16 as host rival Georgia Southern in a three-game weekend series. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
