ATLANTA – Georgia State dropped the regular season series finale to Southern Mississippi, 2-1. The Panthers had already clinched their berth to the SBC Tournament with the win yesterday.
 
The Panthers started off strong with a single by Emily Brown, who then stole second for her 26^th stolen base of the season and moved to the lone number two spot in the GSU record book for stolen bases in a season. Brown only needs four more to break the record of 29.
 
Jaycee Goodwin came up to bat and smashed a rbi double to score Brown for the Panthers lone run.
 
The Golden Eagles scored in the second and third innings with the help of Panther errors and a sac fly.  
 
Freshman pitcher Kate Kastelic (0-2) had her third start of the season, her first complete game, as she struck out five batters and only let up one earned run.
 
The Panthers will head to the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in Lafayette, Louisiana this Wednesday for the play in match against either ULM or Coastal Carolina.
