ATLANTA, GA - After dropping two conference matches versus Arkansas State, Georgia State is back home to take on James Madison. The Panthers will face the Dukes Friday, Oct. 4 at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 5 at 2:00 p.m.
Georgia State has won nine out of its last twelve matches, almost doubling its wins from the previous season. Under the leadership of head coach Flavia Siqueria, the Panthers look to continue their comeback season as they continue conference play.
Georgia State and James Madison are meeting for the eighteenth time in program history. James Madison has taken fourteen of the eighteen games played, and Georgia State the remaining three. The Panthers fell to James Madison in their last meeting 0-3 away on Oct. 2023.
Keionna Mackey leads the Panthers in kills, recording 168 on the season. Mackey has been a key addition to the Panthers' lineup, averaging 3.29 kills per set. She is currently ranked 40 in the nation for service aces, and 132 in the nation for total kills.
Graduate transfer Kaleigh Fitzgerald has served as the Panthers' libero, registering 185 digs on the season so far. Fitzgerald ranks 52 in the nation for digs per set, averaging 4.40.
Next up, Georgia State travels to Conway, SC. to take on the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. The Panthers will compete Friday, Oct. 11 at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, Oct 12 at 2: 00 p.m.
