LEXINGTON, KY --Georgia State faced a challenging matchup against No. 8 Kentucky, falling 105-76 on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at Rupp Arena. The Panthers fought hard throughout, with Cesare Edwards leading the way with a team-high 21 points on 8-of-15 shooting, including three three-pointers. Zarique Nutter added 19 points, while Malachi Brown contributed 11 points and five assists.
How It Happened
Despite Kentucky's size and depth, Georgia State shot an efficient 46.4% from the field and an impressive 52.4% from beyond the arc. The Panthers trailed 48-33 at halftime but continued to battle in the second half. Kentucky capitalized on points in the paint (62) and fast-break opportunities (23) to maintain control of the game. Georgia State forced nine turnovers but struggled to match Kentucky's rebounding dominance, with the Wildcats pulling down 36 boards to the Panthers' 27.
