ATLANTA, GA --The Georgia State women's basketball team got a 21-point showing from the bench, but fell 67-47 to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on the road Friday.
Mikyla Tolivert led the Panthers (0-2) with 11 points and two steals. Patience Williams also tacked on six points and 12 rebounds off of the bench and Kaleigh Addie chipped in as well with nine points from the bench.
Led by Williams' three offensive rebounds, Georgia State did a great job crashing the offensive glass, pulling down 13 boards that resulted in three second chance points.
The Georgia State defense caused its share of mistakes in Friday's game, forcing 21 Georgia Tech turnovers while committing 20. Those takeaways turned into 16 points on the other end of the floor. Crystal Henderson led the way individually for the Panthers with two steals.

How It Happened
Georgia State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 22-10 at the end of the first quarter.
The Panthers continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 36-16 halftime deficit.
Georgia State's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Panthers faced a 54-31 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Georgia State knocked down two three-pointers in the quarter to score six of its 15 total points.
Georgia Tech kept widening its lead in the fourth, constructing a 67-42 advantage before Georgia State went on a 5-0 run to shrink the deficit to 67-47 with 54 seconds to go in the contest, a score which would hold for the rest of the game. Georgia State took advantage of six Georgia Tech turnovers in the quarter, scoring eight points off of those takeaways.
