ATLANTA, Ga. -- Georgia State fell 15-0 to Georgia in the Panthers' home opener Tuesday at the GSU Baseball Complex.
Six Georgia pitchers combined for the shutout on a staff day as the Bulldogs (4-0) won their fourth straight game.
Freshman Jack Butler (0-1) got the ball to start for Georgia State (1-3) and took the loss.
Sophomore Davis Chastain was a bright spot for the Panthers, coming out of the bullpen and throwing 1.1 scoreless innings, allowing no hits, with no walks and two strikeouts. Sophomore righty Micah Earwood also pitched a scoreless inning in his first appearance following Tommy John surgery a year ago.
Georgia State managed just three hits, including a double by JoJo Jackson and singles by Matt Ruiz and Taylor Shultz.
The Panthers continue their homestand with a three-game weekend series against Seton Hall, beginning Friday at 4 p.m. at the GSU Baseball Complex.
