AUBURN, Ala. --Georgia State ran into a buzzsaw in the circle on Thursday as senior Maddie Penta tossed a perfect game for Auburn, leading the No. 25 Tigers past the Panthers 8-0.

Junior Emily Hodnett (0-2) started and took the loss in the circle for Georgia State (5-12).

Junior Alice Thomas led the way offensively for the Panthers, going 0-for-0 in the ballgame.

Georgia State managed to get two balls out of the infield in the loss.

GAME NOTES

» Georgia State pitchers faced 30 Auburn hitters in the game, allowing seven ground balls and seven fly balls while striking out two.
» Thomas led the Panthers at the plate, going 0-for-0.
» Auburn was led offensively by freshman Mariah Penta, who went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
» Senior Maddie Penta led the Tigers pitching staff, throwing six shutout innings.
