ATLANTA, GA-- After starting the season 18-5, the Panthers start conference play by hosting Appalachian State for a weekend series, starting March 15 at 5:00 p.m.
SERIES VS. APP STATE: Georgia State is facing App State for the 26th time in program history. The Panthers are 17-8 on the series after defeating the Mountaineers 7-5 on April 23, 2023.
> This series marks the first time that the Panthers have hosted the Mountaineers since the 2022 season, when Georgia State defeated App State 8-5 on April 20, 2022.
THE ACE: Junior Transfer Sydney Boulware leads the Panthers in the circle, recording a 4.06 ERA and tallying 73 strikeouts on the season, which ranks third in the Sun Belt and 26th nationally. The Dacula, Ga., native is second in the conference for innings pitched after totaling 75 innings over 17 games. She has notched two double-digit strikeout games on the season, starting with a season high 12 strikeouts against Robert Morris (Feb. 23).
> Boulware recorded her first shutout of the season against Tennessee Tech (March 3).
