Boulware Totals 11 Strikeouts in 8-1 Victory

ATLANTA, GA --Junior Sydney Boulware had everything working on Wednesday, striking out 11 Alabama State hitters over seven innings of work to help lead the Georgia State Panthers past the Hornets 8-1.

In addition to her 11 strikeouts, Boulware (3-6) went seven innings, giving up one run on four hits and walking three for Georgia State (7-13).

Offensively, the Panthers were paced by sophomore Maia Mumpfield, who went 2-for-3 on the day with a walk and two RBI. Senior Chloe Nadler put together a standout performance at the dish as well, going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Freshman McKenzie Walker also helped out for Georgia State, putting together two hits in two trips to the plate while adding a walk and an RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trailing 1-0, the Panthers first put runs on the board in the second inning. Freshman Bella Morton came across to score the lone run of the inning for Georgia State and get them on the board.

The game remained tied until the very next inning, when the Panthers got going again on offense. Nadler came across to score the lone run of the inning for Georgia State, which brought the score to 2-1 in favor of the Panthers.

Georgia State held Alabama State without a run before expanding their lead to 4-1 the following inning. The Panthers scored twice, with one run coming across on senior Carolyn Deady's single.

Georgia State held the Hornets without a run before their offense got in gear the next inning. The Panthers scored once on an RBI single off the bat of Walker, bringing the Georgia State advantage to 5-1.

The Panthers held Alabama State without a run before expanding their lead to 8-1 the following inning. The score remained 8-1 for the rest of the game, as the Panthers coasted to the win.
