ATLANTA, GA - Georgia State (8-13) defeated Arkansas State (7-14) and ULM (1-18) over the weekend. Freshman
Sara Radojevic went undefeated on the weekend, scoring eight consecutive singles and doubles matches.
GSU vs Arkansas State
The Panthers played Arkansas State on Saturday morning as they took the doubles point to earn the 1-0 advantage.
In singles play,
Maria Paredes posted an impressive 6-3, 6-3 win at the top court. Shortly after,
Francesca Miglio added a point to the board with a 6-1, 6-3 victory on court No. 3.
Being up 3-0, Radojevic clinched the match for the Panthers as she posted a 6-1, 6-1 decision on court No. 5. The Panthers' fifth point came from court No. 2, as graduate student Alba Retortillo defeated her opponent 2-6, 6-4, 10-8.
Georgia State then dropped matches on courts No. 4 and 6, making the overall score 5-2 for the Panthers.
GSU vs ULM
Georgia State came out strong on Sunday morning to sweep ULM 7-0.
After the Panthers took the doubles point, Retortillo quickly added a point with a 6-0, 6-1 win on court No. 2. Radojevic followed, notching her fourth win of the weekend, 6-1, 6-0.
The clinching match came from court No. 4, as
Pragnya Kumar downed her opponent 6-2, 6-3. Georgia State then took matches on courts No. 6, 3, and 1 to sweep ULM 7-0.
The Panthers look to keep their winning streak going as they take on Georgia Southern on Saturday April 20 at home.
