ATLANTA, GA. - Georgia State (9-13) took down Georgia Southern (17-5) 4-2 on Saturday morning to end regular season with three straight wins.
Maria Paredes clinched the match for the Panthers with a victory at the top singles flight.
In doubles play,
Pragnya Kumar partnered with Alba Retortillo at the top doubles court to take a 6-3 win for the Panthers. To clinch the doubles point, the duo of
Sara Radojevic and
Luciana Galvez defeated their opponents 6-3 on court No. 3.
Freshman
Francesca Miglio earned her tenth win of the season on singles court No. 3 in a three-set thriller, 6-0, 4-6, 6-2. The Panthers then dropped matches on courts No. 4 and No. 6, making the overall score 2-2.
Freshman
Sara Radojevic defeated her opponent 7-5, 7-5 on court No. 5 to regain the lead for Georgia State. With one more match needed to clinch, Paredes clinched the match for the Panthers with a 6-2, 7-6(5) victory at the top singles flight.
Georgia State will compete next in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament starting on Thursday April 25.
