Boulware's 8-Strikeout Outing Leads Georgia State Past Kennesaw State

ATLANTA, GA --Junior Sydney Boulware dominated on Wednesday, fanning eight Kennesaw State hitters over seven innings of work to help lead the Georgia State Panthers past the Owls 4-3.

In addition to her eight strikeouts, Boulware (6-11) went seven innings, giving up three runs, two earned, on six hits and walking none for Georgia State (11-32).

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Panthers got the scoring started early, putting one run on the board in the bottom the first inning with the game still scoreless. Sophomore Ashton Schroyer came across to score the lone run of the inning for Georgia State and get them on the board.

The Owls failed to push any runs across before the Panthers built on their lead in the third inning. Georgia State scored three runs, all of them coming on a three-run homer off the bat of senior Chloe Nadler, scoring freshman Payton Nicholson and junior Chloe Middlebrooks, which brought the Panthers lead to 4-0. Kennesaw State put three runs on the scoreboard before the game was over, but Georgia State still held on for the 4-3 win.
