JONESBORO, AR --The Georgia State volleyball team jumped out to a 1-0 lead, but couldn't hold on and fell in four sets (25-20, 8-25, 15-25, 20-25) to the Arkansas State Red Wolves Saturday on the road at First National Bank Arena.
The loss dropped Georgia State's record to 9-5 overall and 0-2 in Sun Belt action.
Myllena Torquetti finished with five kills on the day to lead the Panthers attack.Keionna MacKey also pitched in with seven in the contest. Defensively, had two players reach double figures in digs as Kaleigh Fitzgerald had 22 and Shanelle Martinez had 14. From the front row, Torquetti contributed nine blocks.

SET 1 | Impressive serving helped the Panthers earn a set-one victory 25-20. Georgia State totaled five aces in the set victory. The Panthers ended on a strong note, stretching their lead to its largest point in the set to finish out the stanza. got a solid defensive performance from a front row that blocked four Arkansas State attacks in the stanza.
SET 2 | Georgia State then dropped the second set 25-8, evening things at a set each. The Panthers dropped the first point and never clawed back into the lead before dropping the set.
SET 3 | Georgia State lost again in set three to make it a 2-1 deficit. The Panthers dropped a tough set 25-15. Georgia State trailed by as many as 10 points as Arkansas State grabbed the advantage for good at 10-9 in a set that was tied up six times before the Red Wolves took over the lead.
SET 4 | Georgia State lost set four and the match, falling 25-20. The Panthers trailed by as many as six points as Arkansas State grabbed the advantage for good at 9-8 and Georgia State was never able to recover in a set that was tied up five times before the Red Wolves took over the lead.
The Panthers will be back at home on Friday Oct. 4 to take on James Madison at 6:00 p.m.Â
