ORLANDO, -- Georgia State fell 1-2 to UCF on Friday, Sept. 27, at the UCF Soccer Complex. Pavel Romero-Garmendia scored for the Panthers in the 42nd minute, with an assist from Braiden Hall, leveling the match after UCF took an early lead. However, UCF sealed the victory with a goal in the 84th minute to break the deadlock. Despite several strong attempts, Georgia State couldn't find an equalizer, ending the match with a close defeat.
How it Happened
UCF broke the 0-0 tie when Alex Smith scored in the 17th minute, assisted by Anderson Rosa.
The Panthers leveled the game on a goal from Pavel Romero-Garmendia -- his first goal of the season -- in the 42nd minute, assisted by Braiden Hall.
UCF then grabbed a 2-1 lead on Rosa's 83rd-minute goal, assisted by Clarence Awoudor and Joey Mueller. The score finished off the 2-1 game.
