MOBILE, Ala. — Georgia State softball dropped the series finale to South Alabama 7-1 on Sunday afternoon at Jaguar Field.

Makayla Stephens drew the start for the Panthers and was charged with the loss. Briana Bower provided a strong relief outing, tossing four innings while allowing one run on two hits with two strikeouts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
South Alabama struck first in the opening inning and added three more runs in the second to build an early 4-0 lead. The Jaguars extended the margin to 6-0 in the third on a two-run home run, then added another run in the sixth.

Georgia State broke through in the top of the seventh when McKenzie Walker launched a two-out solo home run to right-center field. The late hit was cut short as South Alabama closed out the 7-1 victory.
