Dylan Brewster joined the Georgia State staff as a graduate assistant upon Rob Lanier’s hiring in April 2019.
In his first season he helped the Panthers to a 19-win year and postseason eligibility for a seventh-straight season. The 2019-20 season included a seven-game winning streak and winning the 2K Empire Classic Riverside Regional.
Brewster spent the 2018-19 season as a graduate assistant at Tennessee after completing his playing career at Chattanooga. In his one season with the Volunteers, Brewster helped a UT reach the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament and a No. 1-national ranking during the regular season.
A native of Lenoir City, Tenn., Brewster spent the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons as a member of the men’s basketball team at Chattanooga. The 6-2 guard appeared in seven games as a junior. He was placed on scholarship prior to his senior campaign, but an injury limited his participation to just six games in 2017-18. He received his degree in Communications in May 2018.
Brewster was a three-year member of the Dean’s List and the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll at UTC. As a junior, he earned the Southern Conference Commissioner’s Medal and also was named to the SoCon Honor Roll. He graduated with a perfect 4.0 GPA. He served as a team manager at Chattanooga during the 2015-16 season.
Brewster graduated from Lenoir City High School in 2014 and was a standout on the Panthers basketball team. In the same game, he surpassed the 1,000-career-points milestone and also set school record for points in a game with 52 in a win over Wartburg. He also was a member of the LCHS baseball and golf teams and graduated with a 4.0 GPA.
