Georgia State University Athletics

Akiya Thymes joined the Georgia State staff as the director of basketball operations for the 2023-24 season under the helm of head coach Gene Hill. 

Before joining the Panthers' staff, Thymes served as the competition and student athlete engagement coordinator for the Southeastern Conference from 2022-23. 

The Brusly, La. comes from Louisiana State University, where she played softball from 2016-21. Thymes earned her bachelor of science in sports administration in 2019, followed by a bachelor of science in leadership and human resource development in 2021.
