Bijonae Jones joined the Georgia State volleyball program as an assistant coach in January 2024 after three seasons as an assistant at Marshall. In Fall 2026, she was promoted to associate head coach.
During the 2024 campaign, the Panthers capped the season with 17 wins, the most in over a decade, and advanced to the second round of the Sun Belt Tournament for the first time since 2021. With Jones on staff, the Panthers enter 2025 on the rise, building toward an 18-win season. That October, Jones was recognized with the AVCA Thirty Under 30 award.
During her time at fellow Sun Belt Conference member Marshall, Jones was involved in all aspects of the program, including on-court coaching, recruiting, data and analytics, academics, marketing, community service and camps.
She began her coaching career in the state of Georgia as a graduate assistant for court and beach volleyball at LaGrange College in 2019-20. From there, she moved to Lamar, where she spent one year as a graduate assistant before earning a full-time position at Marshall in June 2021.
Jones was a four-year letterwinner and three-year team captain as an outside hitter at Wofford, where she was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll three straight years and was the recipient of the AVCA Diversity Award in 2018.
A native of Irwin, Calif., she earned her bachelor's degree in Spanish with a minor in studio art from Wofford in 2019 and added her master's in education from Lamar in 2021.
