Hosendove Tallies Double-Double in OT Win

Taylor Hosendove scored 18 points with 16 rebounds in GSU's 88-83 win at Tennessee State in OT.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Georgia State picked up its first win of the season in a thrilling 88-83 overtime victory at Tennessee State Wednesday night.

Taylor Hosendove finished with 18 points and 16 rebounds for her 10th double-double, including two clutch free throws in the final minute of regulation that helped send the game to overtime. Elexus Bell also recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds in her second game as a Panther.

The Panthers trailed by as many as 14 and only held the lead for just over 11 minutes. GSU outscored TSU 26-19 in the 3rd quarter to overcome a seven-point deficit at the half.

The Tigers used an 8-0 run to take a five-point lead with three minutes to go in the 4th quarter before Taylor Henderson hit a pair of 3-pointers as GSU rattled off eight straight to retake the lead, but Tennessee State made a free throw with just two seconds left to force overtime.

Georgia State fell behind 81-76 in OT but held Tennessee State without a field goal over the final 3:16 to earn GSU's first win of the 2020-21 season.

Tehya Lyons finished with 14 points and Taniyah Worth added six assists.

The Panthers were 12-of-30 (40%) from 3-point range, tying the school record for most 3FG in a game.

The Panthers play their first home game of the season Sunday at 2 p.m. against Furman on ESPN+.
