CONWAY, S.C. - In its final road match of the 2021 campaign, Georgia State fell to Coastal Carolina, 0-3 (16-25, 18-25, 21-25) Sunday afternoon at the HTC Center in Conway, S.C.

The Panthers fall to 7-17, 4-10 Sun Belt on the season, while Coastal Carolina improves to 16-8, 10-4 Sun Belt.

For the match, Georgia State was led by Meisheia Griffin who tallied seven kills and Claire Lewis who added 17 assists from the setter position.

The Panthers fought to stay in the match, but Coastal Carolina's offense was too much to handle as the Chanticleers tallied 48 kills while hitting .323 as a team.

In the first two sets, Georgia State fought off several set points but was unable to come out victorious in either set. 

After falling down 0-2, the Panthers put together a strong performance in set three but were unable to pull out the set victory. A service error from Coastal Carolina tied set three at 17, but the Chanticleers quickly went on a 4-0 run to regain control of the set. Coastal Carolina went on to win the set, 25-21, to take the match.

Georgia State will look to bounce back next weekend when the Panthers return home to host South Alabama (Nov. 12) and Troy (Nov. 13) to close out the 2021 regular season.
