Sadler and Hosendove Record Double-Doubles as Rally Falls Short in Troy

TROY, Ala. -- Georgia State was defeated by Troy 84-78 Saturday in the two squads' third and final meeting of the regular season.

Four Panthers scored double-digit points, while two recorded double-doubles in the effort. Hannah Sadler registered 18 points and a career high 12 rebounds. Taylor Hosendove registered her 16th career double-double and second in as many outings with 15 points and 16 rebounds. Sadler and Taniyah Worth (16) both came up one point shy of their career-highs in scoring. Additionally, Ashley Foster tacked on 11 points.

Troy jumped to a quick lead from the beginning. Georgia State could not find an immediate answer as the Trojans built upon their momentum throughout the first half, leading by as many as 21 points during the second quarter.

The Panthers found their offensive rhythm in the third quarter shooting 48% from the field. The sparked offense and increased defensive efforts closed the gap to single digits going into the game's final ten minutes.

Georgia State secured 13 rebounds in the fourth quarter to help create scoring opportunities to chip away at the Troy lead. Kam Dziak made two free throws to put the Panthers within two points with 90 seconds left to play. Despite being within striking distance, GSU could not secure the victory as Troy pulled away in the final minute of the game.

The Panthers fall to 10-10 (6-7 SBC). Next up, Georgia State will return to downtown Atlanta for the first of three home contests to close the regular season, facing Coastal Carolina Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.
