Three Panthers Reach Double Figures in 60-45 Win

ATLANTA -- Georgia State improved to 12-10 overall and 8-7 in Sun Belt play Friday night with a 60-45 win over South Alabama in the GSU Sports Arena.

Moriah Taylor was one of three Panthers to score double figures as she went 3-for-5 from long range to finish with a team-high 11 points. Kam Dziak and Taniyah Worth each finished with 10 points on a combined 4-for-9 shooting from deep.

As a team, Georgia State used nine 3-pointers at a 41% clip to down the Jaguars. GSU shot 42% from the field while holding USA to 33%.

The Panthers used an early run to pull away 16-7 in the first quarter and never looked back. GSU led by as many as 27 in the third quarter before South Alabama heated up late in the game.

GSU's defense scored 18 points off 20 USA turnovers while limiting the Jaguars to to only eight points off turnovers.

Taylor Hosendove played 23 minutes and narrowly missed another double-double, tallying nine points and nine rebounds to go with three steals and three assists. 

Georgia State and South Alabama meet again Saturday at 2 p.m. for the regular season finale. GSU will celebrate senior Rakeah Williams prior to tip-off.

With a win, the Panthers can claim the No. 2 seed in next week's Sun Belt Tournament in Pensacola.
