ATLANTA, GA --The Georgia State volleyball team dropped its series opener vs. Southern Miss in straight sets (14-25, 16-25, 19-25) Friday at the GSU Sports Arena

Aaliyah Mitchell finished with six kills on the day to lead the Panthers attack.

How It Happened

SET 1 | The Panthers found themselves in an early deficit, losing a tough first set 25-14. 

SET 2 | A 25-16 second-set loss put Georgia State in a 2-0 deficit in the match. Southern Miss grabbed the advantage for good at 6-5.

SET 3 | Georgia State couldn't prolong the match and lost in set number three. The Panthers lost the first point and never took the lead before losing the set 25-19.
