ATLANTA -- Georgia State(14-25, 3-8 SBC) split doubleheader with James Madison(21-11, 6-5 SBC) on Thursday evening. The Panthers snapped their seven game lose streak but then fell in five innings in game two to the Dukes.

The Dukes started off the game with a solo homerun in the first but the Panthers would have a quick response up at the plate.

The Panthers scored four runs just in the first inning.
Bailee Richardson hit a two-rbi double after
Chloe Middlebrooks was walked and
Chloe Nadler rang off a base hit. Right after,
Ashton Schroyer sliced one up the middle, then stole second. Richardson then took home on a wild pitch, extending the lead to two runs. With Schroyer on third,
Emma Yanes came to the plate and smacked one to left field for the sac- fly.

James Madison homered again in the fourth to cut the lead in half.

Georgia State scored two more times when
Alice Thomas stole home in the fourth and on an rbi single by Brown in sixth. The Panthers went on to win 6-5.

Elle Doolittle pitched a complete game, earning the win to improve to 7-6 on the season.

In game two, the game entered a rain delay in the top of the third after James Madison scored five runs on a three rbi double and a two run homer.

Coming back to the top of the third after about 45 minutes, the Dukes picked right back up where they left off with a three run home run. They stole home in the fifth to extend their lead to nine.

The Panthers had no answer, falling to the Dukes after five.

Emily Hodnett pitched 2.1 innings and dropped to 4-10 on the season.

The final game of the series will be Friday with a new start time of 11:00 am due to forecasted rain.
