ATLANTA, GA -- After a back-and-forth contest, Georgia State fell 9-4 to Georgia Tech late in the sixth inning on Tuesday evening.
The Panthers held the Yellow Jackets to a tie through the fist five innings after taking a 2-0 lead over Georgia Tech in the top of the first inning.
Kiki Edwards doubled to center to score
Chloe Nadler and
Jaycee Goodwin in the top of the first inning. The Panthers kept control of the game through the first inning and-a-half, but Georgia Tech scored two runs in the bottom of the second to tie the contest.
The Yellow Jackets scored a one-run lead in the bottom of the third, but the Panthers responded with two runs in the fourth to take a 4-3 lead.
Carolyn Deady hit an RBI down the left field line to bring
Chloe Hatcher home. Following,
Bella Morton hit an RBI double to score Deady, giving the Panthers a 4-3 lead.
The Panthers fought through all seven innings, but gave up five runs between the fifth and six innings to solidify a 9-4 loss against the Yellow Jackets.
The Panthers return to the Bob Heck Softball Complex for the I-75 Challenge Feb. 23-25.
