ATLANTA, GA --The Georgia State offense put on a ball-movement clinic at home Thursday, notching 13 assists on 18 made shots, but ultimately fell to the South Alabama Jaguars 77-51.
The Panthers (4-10, 0-2) had two players score in double figures, led by Toneari Lane, who had 15 points. Cesare Edwards tacked on 12 points and six rebounds and Clash Peters added six points and eight rebounds.
Led by Peters' three offensive rebounds, Georgia State did a great job crashing the offensive glass, pulling down 11 boards that resulted in nine second chance points.
How It Happened
After falling behind 10-4, Georgia State went on a 7-0 run with 14:52 left in the first half, culminating in a bucket from Edwards, to take an 11-10 lead. The Panthers then surrendered that lead and entered halftime down 33-30.
Georgia State could not pull any closer in the second half, losing by a final of 77-51. Georgia State shot well from three-point range in the half, hitting six shots from deep to score 18 of its 21 points.
