Glenn Scores Again as Panthers Draw 1-1 at Wofford

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Georgia State women's soccer picked up its first draw of the season Thursday night, playing to a 1-1 tie at Wofford at Snyder Field. Senior forward Emily Glenn scored her third goal of the year for the Panthers.

After a scoreless opening half in which both sides traded chances, the Panthers struck first in the 61st minute. Glenn finished from close range after a setup from Sunniyah Tucker, who notched her fourth assist of the season. The goal was the third in the last four matches for Glenn, who also fired a team-high five shots with three on goal.

Wofford answered back in the 75th minute to bring the match level. Forward Annie Andrews slotted home the equalizer off a cross from Julia Grier to make it 1-1.

Georgia State continued to push for the winner down the stretch, forcing Terrier goalkeeper Elizabeth Navola into several key saves, including late stops on Glenn and Hina Suzuki. Navola finished with six saves as the Panthers outshot Wofford 16-9 overall and 7-5 in shots on goal.

Tucker and Suzuki combined for six shots, while Aaliyah Faddoul added three more. Defensively, goalkeeper Ariana Anderson made four saves, including two in the first half, to keep the match scoreless heading into the break.

With the result, Georgia State moves to 4-3-1 on the season heading into the start of Sun Belt Conference play.
