Brown Matches Career-High at Old Dominion

NORFOLK, Va. --Malachi Brown scored 25 points and Joah Chappelle added nine more, but the Panthers fell to the Old Dominion Monarchs 78-55 on the road Saturday.

Brown led the Panthers with 25 points, four rebounds and two steals. His 25 points matches his career-high, which he set earlier this season at Louisiana. Jelani Hamilton added seven points and two steals and Anthony Enoh chipped in as well with five points and two steals off of the bench.

Led by Christopher Jones' four offensive rebounds, Georgia State pulled down 17 boards that resulted in 18 second chance points.


How It Happened

Georgia State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 36-26 heading into halftime.

Old Dominion kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 61-36 advantage before Georgia State went on a 6-0 run, finished off by Brown's three, to shrink the deficit to 61-42 with 10:35 to go in the contest. Old Dominion responded and outscored the Panthers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 78-55. Georgia State shot well from three-point range in the half, hitting four shots from deep to score 12 of its 29 points.
