Henderson Hits Sixth 20+ Point Performance in Loss to ULM

MONROE, La. — The Georgia State women's basketball team (9-15, 4-8 SBC) received strong scoring efforts from Crystal Henderson and Cheyenne Holloman, but fell 81-62 to the UL Monroe Warhawks (10-12, 5-8 SBC) on the road Wednesday in Monroe, La inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum.

Henderson led the Panthers with 22 points and four assists, while Holloman added 17 points. Eghosa Obasuyi contributed seven points and two steals. Gabbie Grooms pulled down three offensive rebounds, helping Georgia State convert second-chance opportunities, as the team totaled 11 offensive boards and five second-chance points.

Defensively, the Panthers forced 19 turnovers while committing 13, turning those takeaways into 16 points. Ari Dyson paced the team with three steals.

How It Happened
After falling behind 19-6, Georgia State went on a 5-0 run with 1:17 left in the first quarter, cutting its deficit to 19-11. The Warhawks responded, pushing its lead to 20-11 heading into the second quarter.

The Warhawks continued to pull away early in the second, building a 30-14 advantage before the Panthers went on another 5-0 run, highlighted by a three from Henderson, to narrow the gap to 30-19. UL Monroe countered again, finishing the half with a 41-29 lead.

After halftime, ULM extended its advantage to 59-43. Georgia State answered with an 11-0 run, capped by another three from Henderson, trimming the deficit to 59-54 with 1:02 remaining in the third. The Warhawks stalled the Panthers to head into the fourth quarter with a 62-54 lead. The Panthers poured in seven three-pointers in the quarter, scoring 21 of their 25 total points.

Georgia State was unable to close the gap in the fourth, falling 81-62. The Panthers capitalized on opportunities in the post, scoring four of their eight points in the paint.
